Classic! Best way to introduce the Grinch to small children.
My 4 year old niece didn't want to go to the live play of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" because she was scared of the Grinch. When I heard this I knew what the problem was. Children can't sit there for over an hour before the Grinch turns nice. So I will read her the book first. It will take just a few minutes for the Grinch's heart to grow three sizes (oops, spoiler alert!). Then she can watch the 30 minute animated special. Then she can see the play. I suppose she can watch the Jim Carrey movie as well.
Typo in book. Chimbley should be chimney
Would be 5 stars if the grinch stuffed the bags up the chimney!! What’s a Chimbley? How can a classic get messed up like this??
Quality issues
Book cover and pages aren't facing the correct way. Right side up cover, upside down pages. Disappointing quality!
A classic but keep away from little ones
It's a classic obviously but my 3 year old was scared of the picture on the front cover and I had to remove the book from his room before he could fall asleep. He was fine with the story itself - but I had not noticed that Grinch's red eyes glisten in the dark (metallic print) and frankly they looked pretty evil even to me. So just FYI there if you want to avoid scaring your little one.. Also I wish the illustrations were in full color.
Book wasn't the size I expected
While this was the book title I wanted, the size of the book isn't what I expected. The size of the book I ordered is UNDER the Green Eggs book, and as you can see, it is NOT the same size as the book on top, which I bought at the book store. I had no idea that there would be a different size in the book. I'd only seen these books the size of the Green Eggs book. While I can make this work, I am not happy about it. Too much trouble to return it now.
A classic book for the Holidays!
The book is bigger than I thought it would be and the cover is a red shiny metallic color. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boss. He told us he was a grinch, and we also decorated our office as whoville. Because everything was Grinch themed, I figured his gift should be too. It was also a gift he could share with his children.
Its The Grinch, what more is there to say?
I've always loved "The Grinch" growing up, so I had to get this for my kiddos this Christmas. I haven't given it to them yet, and I won't be til the night before christmas as their "night before christmas box", but I flipped through the pages already. The book has that nice crisp new book feel where it's almost hard to turn the pages because of how tight the binding is, but I love that. It arrived clean and no scratches or anything on the cover which is always nice!
Great Hardcover Children's Book
Beautiful hardbound book. Would make a great collection to any children's library. I'm using it for reference for a church musical. I've forgotten how the movie had changed the story a lot, so will be sticking to the original as much as possible. Also, the illustrations are so colorful and inspiring for set designs & costumes.
Needs quality control checks :/
I wanted so much to give this a 5 because this is the book I have always come to love but clearly they need to do some quality control because not only was it printed upside down and backwards ( which I could probably play off that it was the grinch playing games ) but the bottom of the pages aren’t even cut they are all jagged and uneven and it causes this to look so tacky... unfortunately this is a gift with no time to return and replace
Printed incorrectly
So we bought this book for our kids at Christmas and it came maybe 2 weeks before the holiday which was great. However, the book is printed backwards and upside down from the outside cover. Very confusing to the kids then they fo to open the book.
